HistoryAfter many years as collectors of coins and banknotes and with several years experience from dealing by mail-order, Karl Saethre and Aksel Høgli started Bergens Mynt- og Seddelforretning AS, 2nd of August 1993 in Bergen City. The business developed and the premises soon were too small. 5th of October 1997 we therefore moved to new and bigger premises at Kong Oscarsgt. 2B, not far from the old shop. Our activity has increased further and from January 1998 we got Elin Sulen on the team. She has now the responsibility for all invoicing, bookkeeping and part of the mail order handling. From summer 1999 we expanded again, this time Kjersti-Anita Sæthre joined the group. When she left us summer 2003, Bodil Herland took her place, and the responsiblity for all packing and shipping of your orders as well as you will meet here receiving your calls etc. Bodil has also lately been more involved in our new web-shop. In Match 2006 Kjersti-Anita was back on full time. She was than working together with Bodil, to improve our service towards you as our customer in a best possible way. Kjersti-Anita was on a one year leave from 1. August 2008 and has now left the company.
Today Mirjam Sulen is responsible for all the packing and shipping of your orders. Summer 2001 Aksel withdraw from the active participation in the shop and he has later withdrawn from the company. During Easter week 2002 we left our premises in Bergen City and moved into new and bigger premises about 6 km out of town (Lyderhornsveien 291, N-5171 LODDEFJORD) In addition to your possibility to still visit our shop, we are focusing on the service we can offer you through internet and our web-shop. We have therefore again (summer 2006) renewed or web-shop. Here you will find most of what we can offer you, and here you can do your shopping 24 hours a day. If you don't find what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us, either by phone, fax or send us an e-mail. Additional to the shop and the mail-order, we are participating in different coin and banknote shows. We have today the biggest selection of Norwegian and foreign banknotes in Norway, as well as a good selection of coins, (both Norwegian and foreign), catalogues and accessories. We are issuing our own program for numisletters (covers with coins- banknotes and telecards). We are also offering a number of subscription programs for both banknotes and coins. We are the editor of the biyearly issued price catalogue for Norwegian Banknotes "Norske Pengesedler 1695-2006", (last issued, 19th ed.) and we are the distributor for Krause Catalogues in Norway.
