Erik O. Paulsen (1962) is a historian, author, journalist and numismatist. He has since 1979 written more than 2000 articles about different subjects and published 11 books. He’s had regular columns in Samler- og Antikkbørsen Magazine and the newspaper Bergens Tidende about coins, medals and banknotes (numismatics, exonumia, og notaphily) together with in many other publications. His personal interest is phaleristics (science of Orders) and Persian coins before 1979. Paulsen is an elected Fellow of The Royal Numismatic Society in London and Member of The Silver Society. Bergen Coins and Banknotes have hired Paulsen to write a monthly article about coins, medals, and banknotes on this page.
