As we this year are celebrating the 100 years of death for Henrik Ibsen, 2006 has been apointed as the Ibsen-Year.
Henrik Ibsen is one of the greatest name in the world literature. He has partisipated to create the Norwegian identity, more than many of us understand. Ibsen is together with Shakespare the dramatist which is most performed during all time, and his works are still actual 100 years after his death.
The Ibsen-Year has been marked in many different ways. One special event took place in Oslo, where the part of Drammensveien was renamed Henrik Ibsens Gate (street).
The Royal Castle has than got a new address, Henrik Ibsens gate 1.
Our issue no. 50 is celebrating the Ibsen-Year.
The stamp used was issued in 1978, on the 150 yeras anniversary for Ibsens birthday, and the 20-krone coin has been issued by Norges Bank in 2006.
The stamp is cancelled on the 23th may 2006, the date when Ibsen died.
