1905 wa a year full of events, wgich ended in the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden.
The 11th of March Christian Michelsen formed a coalition government. The 7th of June the union was declared dissolved and the Norwegian Parliament gave Michelsen and his government the task to take over the governing of the country on behalf of the king, until a new king had taken his seat.
The 12th and 13th of August a referendum was held for the dissolution of the union. After that several legal procedures led to Norway as a free and independent kingdom.
