Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen (born 29th July 1841 in Bergen, died 12th February 1912 in Florø) was a Norwegian doctor and patholog. He described the lepra illness, also called "Hansens disease"He discovered the first lepra basilli in his microscope 28th February 1873. (from Wikipedia)
