Australia, 1 Dollar Silver Proof.
This silver Proof, 1 oz pure silver coin bears Qn. Elizabeth II on horseback at the Trooping of the Guards, with the full colour flag behind. Struck at Pert Mint.
Mintage: Only 22.500 coins.
In early 1952, Princess Elizabeth accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, left England for an official visit to Australia and New Zealand in place of her father, King Georg VI, who was too ill to travel. On 6 February, whilst in Kenya on the first stage of this trip, she received news of her father's death and her own accession to the throne.
The center of the coin shows Qn. Elizabeth II on horseback during the Trooping of the Colour, an annual cermony which marks her official birthday. A coloured image of the Union Jack flag is shown in the background. The outher design displays a ring of Foot Guards, who are most often seen on duty outside Buckingham Palace.
