The Royal Norwegian Mint (today: The Norwegian Mint) has since 1989 issued proof-coins. The first issue in 1989 was a 175 korner silver coin which was given the specification "Speilglans" as it did not cualified fully to be specified as proof.
From than, ther has been issued a Proofset every year. The first years the sets were not fully equipped with all the coins, but from 1995 the sets have been equal to a ordinary coin set with all circulating coins with the same date, issued in Proof condition. The mintage of these sets has varied from 20.000 sets to only 8.000 sets in 2005.
