This is the last set issued in the Norwegn Numismatic History, Set no. 10.
This set contains the 5-kroner commemorative coin issued in 1991, to selibrate the 175 years jubilee for Norges Bank. Additionally it has the obverse and reverse copy of a specidaler issued in 1819 under Carl XIV Johan. The collecting of the "silvertax" started in 1817 to finance the founding of Norges Bank. This was a property tax which the landowners had to pay in accordance with the value of their properties. Many had to give away both heritage and old silver objects which were melted to make the basic founds in pure silver as a guarantee for the new monetary system. The first speciedaler in 25 years was issued in 1819, these were made from the metal collected as the "Silvertax".
