Norwegian Numismatic History: Last 10-Krone Banknote/First 10-Kr
Quality : UNC
This is the third set in the series “Norwegian Numismatic History” and contains the uncirculated versions of both the last 10-krone banknote and the first 10-krone coin from 1983/1984, presented in a colorful and informative cover.
The issue limit for this item is 1,500 individually numbered sets.
10-krone banknotes were in circulation in Norway from 1877 until 1984. The Central Bank of Norway saw the need for a 10-krone coin already in the early 1980s, because the banknotes only lasted a few months and the need for higher denomination coins for vending machines was increasing. Therefore, the first 10-krone circulating coins were issued in 1983, differing from the rest of the coin range with its deep engraving and new alloy. The old 10-krone banknotes were gradually replaced by the coins during a two-year period, and there are therefore both coins and banknotes bearing the issue dates 1983 and 1984 in existence.
