Before the kroner issues, a number of paper money were issued in various daler or skilling denominations. The first issue was a private issue with royal approval, by the Bergen merchant Jørgen Thor Møhlen - a shortlived, but interesting issue.
Our stock of Norwegian Banknotes mainly consists of late 19th century and 20th century notes, but we also offer rare old Norwegian notes when available. As reference we are using the Norwegian Catalogue "Norvegian Banknotes 1695-2005 with Spitsbergen" for the early Norwegian notes (until 1877) and for Spitsbergen notes. For Norwegian notes from 1877 to date we are using the "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" (P-no.)
